VOLVE – A Circus Social
Volve is a meet up for those with circus talents or acro-yoga skills. The original event was held in a place that, being somewhat more secluded, attracted some undesirables and thus lead to this new eVOLVEd version.
I had attended the original event at the earlier location and was not inclined to return until I saw some pics from this current installment on Facebook. Boy, was I glad I did!
Family friends of ours are professional performers and also attended. This just made it even more fun.
This first photo features Sky, a performer who has modeled for us before, atop her hoop and our friend Tricia inside.

A great part of this meet up was the opportunity to meet some new people and get acquainted with those I had seen from the first event. Here, Marisa is flying in the silks. Something I have been introduced to here in Austin for the first time (from Sky and her mother). She was so graceful on the silks that I just kept shooting.
The silks are a versatile tool. The make for great swings, too!
This was not just a visual event. The drums provide background beats to keep the buzz going.
Acro-yoga combines acrobatics with yoga poses. It makes for some great pics.
Some acrobatics brought over from the original Muscle Beach in Santa Monica (before Venice took over the name). Here Sky and Tricia and Austin give us a demonstration.
The circus ball got plenty of use, even if it was just to jump around on.

This is one of my favorite “tricks” that is a real crowd pleaser.
I took so many photos, but have whittled it down to just these few. I hope you have enjoyed viewing them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
